La storia si svolge intorno all'anno Mille, in Gran Bretagna, all'inizio del regno di Re Artù.
Kayley, una fanciulla vivace e determinata, cresce con un sogno nel cassetto: diventare cavaliere della Tavola Rotonda, proprio come il suo defunto padre.
Quando il malvagio Ruber, assetato di potere, ruba la preziosa Excalibur, Kayley si butter`à nel gioco e sarà disposta a lottare per difendere ciò in cui crede. Troverà l'aiuto di un non vedente,Garret, di uno strampalato drago a due teste, Devon & Cornelius, e di un falco.
Ma dovrà vedersela anche con il feroce grifone al servizio di Ruber.
